Cluster Cup 29-31 July 2011 Photos

The 14th annual Cluster Cup was played at the Crown Plaza golf course in the Hunter Valley, NSW. It started on Friday afternoon with Lunch at Bistro Molines situated on a hill top in the Tallavera Grove Winery. I had the roast duck on cabbage followed by a baked pear and a few glasses of local Shiraz. It was an awesome afternoon in the sun drenched room.

Then it was down the hill to Potters Brewery for a few schooners of Kolsch which a german style beer brewed on site. The boys got lucky winning 3 meat trays in the raffle. We had a nightcap at the Crown Plaza bar where Hunters brand new shoe was turned into a beer goblet.

Saturday's at the Cluster are always a somber affair. For years we use to play the championship on the Saturday, hung over. I am glad we changed the format to playing 2 ball best ball on the Saturday which is so much more relaxing than stroke when you have a swollen head from 6 beers to many on the Friday night. After BBQ'ing the meat trays we won on Saturday night and watching the all Blacks slaughter the Boks, the golf on Sunday was awesome. you couldn't ask for better weather, there was plenty of wildlife on te course and the game moved pretty quickly. Steve Webster won the stableford with 33 points, I cleaned up on the Caclutta taking home 1st (in syndicate with Ed) and 3rd place.

Personalised Kids Books with photos

We purchased a personalised gift for our son's recently from our friends who have started a new website called www.tellingtales.com.au. We uploaded some photos of each family member along with their name and a beautifully printed ABC book showed up with digital photos of us on the letter of the alphabet that starts your name. I am filed under D for Daddy as opposed to R for Ryan. I think these are great personalized gifts for children that you can organise with a bit of planning. Below is a clip of my 7 year old son reading the book to my 2 yer old.

The illustrations and print quality of the books can not be faulted. I will be buying these personalised books for nieces, nephews and my son's friends. It is gift they will keep on the shelf and go back to and read as opposed to the games the kids get with bits and pieces that make a mess and get lost.

If you would like to know more go to www.tellingtales.com.au
